Huaxia Chinese School of Lehigh Valley celebrates Chinese New Year with the community!
This year’s Chinese New Year celebration is particularly special for our school. Thanks to the incredible support of our volunteers, we successfully hosted four Chinese New Year events at Parkland Community Library, Southern Lehigh Public Library, Lower Macungie Library, and Bethlehem Area Public Library. All four events were packed with enthusiastic attendees! Our teachers, students, and parents shared the traditions of the Chinese New Year with the local community, showcasing performances of traditional Chinese instruments such as the Erhu and Guzheng, engaging in calligraphy demonstrations, paper cutting, dragon dancing, and much more. Volunteers also prepared delicious Chinese treats, including dumplings, spring rolls, and even Tanghulu!
The events attracted families from diverse backgrounds, coming together to celebrate the new year and experience the beauty of Chinese culture. The dedication and hard work of our volunteers not only helped more people learn about Chinese New Year and its traditions but also introduced more families to Huaxia Chinese School of Lehigh Valley.
Beyond the library events, our volunteers also visited The Birches of Lehigh Valley, where they brought the joy of the Chinese New Year to the senior residents. Through Chinese dance, traditional musical performances, and calligraphy demonstrations, they shared the essence of the holiday. The smiles and applause from the residents were the greatest recognition of our efforts!
